This project uses this Ministry of Forests map/database to correlate specific clearcuts with timber marks, which can then be used to correlate specific clearcuts with volumes recorded by the ministry’s Harvest Billing System. This allows us to, for example, estimate the total biomass that was killed in creating a specific clearcut and an estimate of the associated forest carbon emissions.
