Viola sempervirens (Trailing Wood Violet, Evergreen Violet)

Observed in the Hyacinthe Bay Stewardship Area

The flowers are very similar to Viola glabella. The two species can distinguished by the leaves. Sempervirens leaves are evergreen flatter and rounder. Glabella leaves are more heart-shaped and deeply veined. See below (sempervirens on left).
