  • Morte Lake

The trails complex at Morte Lake can be accessed from any of five starting points (see the map below). The most commonly used trailhead is at the first parking lot on Walcan Road, about 0.75 kilometres west of Walcan's intersection with Hyacinthe Bay Road. From the parking lot, the round-trip route known as the Morte Lake Trail (in red in the map below) is about 10 kilometres long. Along that route, there are intersection with other trails; signage put up by the Quadra Trails Committee will help keep you on the right trail. The round trip to and from Alder Beach is 5.5 kilometres. In the map below, the distances between yellow dots—which mostly indicate where trails intersect—is indicated. These are horizontal distances; most of the Morte Lake trails have some vertical component as well.
