Very similar to Viola sempervirens, which is often found in the same place. The two can be distinguished by their leaves (see below). Viola sempervirens have roundish, smooth leaves (left) that survive for a year or more. Glabella has heart-shaped, deeply-veined leaves, all of which form in one spring.
