Floating Islands Lake covers 2.64 hectares of the Granite Creek watershed (outlined below with blue dots). There are salmon-bearing streams in this watershed.

This small lake, just outside of Main Lake Provincial Park, has seven small “islands” that appear to be floating on its surface. The smallest of these is forming on a floating log, and this might be an indication of how the other islands formed.

Nighthawk Lake covers 2.71 hectares of the Hyacinthe Creek watershed, outlined with red dots in the map below. There are salmon-bearing streams in this watershed. Historical fisheries records indicate Nighthawk Creek supported a population of Coho salmon. The lake has long supported a population of beavers, with a dam at the east end outlet.
